How do we teach martial arts to help you to be successful? We have challenges appropriate to your level of skill, ability and understanding. Our leadership team coaches you to learn and set goals. Ask any person you consider successful and they will tell you that if you could only have mastered one skill, it should be to set and attain goals.

You attain big goals by setting and successfully realizing shorter goals. For example, one of your long term goals with Quest Martial Arts is to earn your black belt. But you get there by learning to set smaller short term goals. You learn basic skills and techniques that lead to your first testing stripes. Then you earn enough testing stripes to earn your first belt, your second belt and eventually, you have attained your goal of black belt!

Perseverance, or the ability to stick with something, is a cornerstone for success and happiness. It is also at the heart martial arts. If you want your child to have a great and satisfying life then you must make sure they learn perseverance!

Martial arts is one of the very few activities for a child, and I might say the only one, where the major goal (earning a black belt) is continuous for multiple years. Sports, dance, gymnastics and even academic schools are a short few months and then they are done. Martial arts and the attainment of a black belt encourages perseverance, follow through and, as a result, self-discipline.

To Shin Do is a comprehensive martial art that is based on natural body movement. Anyone can learn it and become very skilled, no matter the age. Our youngest student is four years old and our most senior student was in his NINTIES!
